Kurapika was being patient. Extraordinarily so, as far as he was concerned. Leorio was clearly less impressed with Kurapika's patience, though, as he was inching closer to Kurapika, loudly making bad jokes to that woman. He reached across, and put his hands over Kurapika's.

It wasn't as if he would be able to hurt her, much as he wanted to, given his contract. But. He perhaps could see how the rattling chains was a bit... anxiety inducing.

Biske, however, seemed more interested than intimidated. "Those are nen chains, right? Impressive... and dangerous. Guess it figures those two kids would have impressive friends. Or, well, friend."

Leorio scowled, and let go of Kurapika's hand.

"How did you find out about the... jewels again?" she asked, feigning nonchalance as she stirred her iced tea.

Kurapika smiled his deadliest smile. "Gon mentioned that you had earrings just like mine."

"How sweet of that boy to notice them!" she cooed.

Kurapika ground his teeth. "I want them."

"I'm sure you do," she smiled, narrowing her eyes. "We haven't discussed price yet."

Kurapika dug his fingernails into the tablecloth. "And more than that, I want to know how you got them."

She watched him for a moment, and then her expression softened, and Kurapika couldn't quite place the particular light that shone in her eyes, because he couldn't remember his mother well enough. "I found them. I'm always looking for treasure. I can give you a map to the location where I found them, and the earrings... for a small price."

"Small?" Kurapika asked, raising his eyebrow.

She winked at him. "Hey, kid, I know why you're looking for them. I didn't know there were any... well, I'm not a heartless bitch, even if I can play the role perfectly. But, everything comes at a price. This one... shouldn't be too bad for the two of you."

"Ok," Kurapika took a deep breath, looking sideways at Leorio momentarily. He wasn't sure what she wanted from him, but... Kurapika was willing to offer anything Leorio had.

He was a bit dismayed at himself, but he knew Leorio wouldn't hesitate, so.

That actually made it worse.

Biske leaned forward...

"Is that woman some kind of pervert or something?" Leorio asked, sounding aghast.

Kurapika grunted. "I don't think so. I think she's just... well, concerned for them. They're her students. If she were a pervert, she'd want us to make out. ...That might have been easier..."

Leorio stopped in his tracks, and puffed out his chest. "Well, if you want to..."

"There they are. Let's go." He strode off after Killua and Gon, who were fighting over a candy bar.

"Wait, wait," Leorio grabbed Kurapika's collar. "What's the plan here? I mean... getting those two to kiss..." He looked forlornly as Gon shoved Killua's face away and swallowed the whole candy bar in one bite. "They're... still kids, right?"

Kurapika frowned. "Well. They act like it. But." Killua blew raspberries at Gon, and Gon curled up in a ball and started kicking.

Kurapika's shoulders slumped.

Kurapika and Leorio sat down heavily across from Biske, glaring. She fluffed out her hair, and smiled serenely at them. "Well, boys?"

"Give me the jewels," Kurapika demanded flatly.

"Did they kiss?" she asked innocently.

"We did what we were asked to," Leorio replied darkly. He slapped a small picture down in front of her.

It was a single picture from an arcade photo booth. Gon and Killua did appear to be lip-locked...

Frowning, she picked up the picture. "Are you two squishing them together?"

Kurapika's eyes went red, and his chains started to rattle and float. "We earned it. Now..."

She chuckled. "Oh, see, see, this is exactly why I needed the two of you! I couldn't squish them together on my own. Here." She pushed a small black box across the table. "Everything is in there."

Kurapika grabbed it and stood up, marching off.

"Wait for me..." Leorio said tiredly, getting up after him.

"Was it really that bad?" Biske asked, repressing a giggle.

Leorio glared at her. "We asked them where they thought the best date place in town was. They took us to an arcade. Where we chased after them, and tried to keep them from blowing everything up. For five hours. And then, at the end of the day, they lead us to a love hotel, and Killua gave Kurapika a string of condoms and told him to keep me in one piece."

"That brat," Biske snickered affectionately. "But if you want to get him to loosen up, you're going to need a lot more than squishing."

"Lady," Leorio flipped his jacket over his shoulder, and turned to go. "I already know that."

Biske's laughter followed him all the way out of the café.
