"This is the stupidest thing I've ever done," Ryoma sighed, propping his chin up on his fist.

"Don't say that, Ryoma-kun," Aoi complained. "This is our first date!" He bounced in his seat. "Try to enjoy it a little bit, ok?"

"Stop doing that!" Ryoma shouted. "You're rocking the whole cabin!"

He looked out the window. They were nearly at the top of the Ferris wheel, too. He glared at Aoi, but the idiot just laughed.

"Aw, are you afraid of heights? You should have said that before we got on." He winked, and rocked back and forth harder.

Ryoma snarled. "Of course I'm not afraid!" he insisted, but he clung to the sides, anyway.

Aoi laughed so hard, he ended up shaking the cabin even more.

"Stop that!" Ryoma hissed, clinging tightly to his seat. "If you don't stop right now, there will never be a second date."

"Tell you what," Aoi said, winking at him. "I'll stop if you tell me where you're applying for college. You can't be coy about this forever."

"Are you stupid?" Ryoma sighed, exasperated. "I'm not going to college. I'm going back to America, and turning pro."

Aoi stopped immediately. In fact, it was as if someone had unplugged him.

Ryoma blinked, and looked at him, wary.

Aoi grinned, but it wasn't his usual fool's grin. "Figures. I spend three years trying to get you to date me, and now that you've finally agreed, you're going to be leaving soon. I wanna go pro, too."

Ryoma looked away, unwilling to show Aoi any traces of emotion that might possibly be found in his eyes. "Che. You wouldn't make it, anyway."

"Is that so, Ryoma-kun?" Aoi said sharply. "Then you should give up and start studying. Didn't I beat you at regionals?"

"You got lucky," Ryoma muttered. He looked at Aoi from the corner of his eye.

"Why did you agree to go out with me?" Aoi asked suddenly, putting his foot up on Ryoma's bench.

Very close to Ryoma.

Ryoma looked down at Aoi's foot. "What difference does it make?"

"Oh, c'mon, Ryoma-kun. Humor me."

"Again?" Ryoma said archly.

"Again," Aoi repeated, lowering his voice.

That got Ryoma's attention.

He looked Aoi in the eye, and then he looked away again. "Maybe... I don't hate you, don't hate hanging out with you. Don't... hate playing with you." He disgustingly blushed a bit.

"Heh, because I beat you then!" Aoi cackled and sat back in his seat, shaking the cabin a bit.

Ryoma glared at him.

"I get it, I get it. I beat you, so you respect me. And you're leaving soon, so you figure... it doesn't matter. But you know something, Ryoma-kun?" He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, and grinned his best mad grin. "I'm in love with you."

Ryoma backed up, and looked away. And damn it, he blushed again. Damn it. He narrowed his eyes, but he didn't say anything.

Aoi started to laugh again, and he moved again, switching sides to sit next to Ryoma. "Will you write to me when you're a famous tennis player?"

"Probably not," Ryoma mumbled, shifting away from Aoi.

Aoi just followed him, though. "Will you call me?"

"I don't think so," Ryoma said, defiantly, glaring at Aoi.

Aoi leaned forward so his forehead bumped the brim of Ryoma's cap. "Will you visit me when you come home to Japan?"

"Maybe," Ryoma said, "but only if I feel like it."

Aoi swiped Ryoma's cap, and while Ryoma's lips were parted to protest, he leaned in, and kissed him, hard, pressing his body against the wall of the cabin. Ryoma tried to push him back, but he ended up just clinging to Aoi's shirt as Aoi pushed harder, slipping his tongue past Ryoma's teeth, tasted him.

They broke apart, breathless.

"I think you'll come back to see me," Aoi grinned, panting. "I think... if I tell you I'm never going to play tennis with you again, you'll definitely be back."

"You're an idiot," Ryoma sighed, looking away. Licking his lips. "Kentarou."

"You called me by my name!" Kentarou shouted. He threw his arms around Ryoma's neck, and squeezed him.

"Idiot!" Ryoma complained. "Stop it! Stop shaking it!"

But Aoi was laughing too hard, anyway.
